Unlike other country musicians who are not fond of talking about controversial issues and topics in their songs, Reba McEntire stepped out of her comfort zone and wrote a song that discussed AIDS. The song was titled “She Thinks His Name Was John” – it was recorded under the album “Read My Mind”. After releasing such a song, she did not let the negative comments get in her way and kept on creating songs that talked about other controversial topics such as illegal immigration, mercy killing, and domestic abuse. That just proved how brave Reba was to stand firm with her principles.

Everything was doing well in her career until she released her 19th album which was specially made to celebrate and mark her 20th year of being active in the industry. Even though the purpose was good, collecting and combining all the songs she already released before and putting it on an album was definitely not a good idea. Lots of fans and critics did not like her 19th album. Well, at least one of the songs in that album still made it to dominate some charts.
