Making A Scene
“That’s it!” thought Baker. He stayed in place and then said nonchalantly, “Can I speak to your manager?” She walks to the side without even a word and shouts at the back of the kitchen. She returns her empty stare at Baker, and then in answer to her call, a lady came out. She begins to look at Baker and then at the queue behind him, “What’s the problem here sir, you’re holding up the people behind you.”

Baker saw where the employee got her behavior. He recognizes this is not really going to be fun and interesting. He ignored the demeaning accusation that he’s the reason for such ridiculous lines and tried to explain to her about what had actually occurred as well as how the issue he observes in her establishment must be fixed by management. Her comment was unexpected.
