A vague warning
On one of his visits, Dr. Nichols watched the couple play with the kittens, a deep crease of concern marking his brow. “I understand that you’ve become attached to them,” he began cautiously, “but it’s crucial that you realize the importance of seeking specialist help.” John, on the defensive, immediately retorted, “They’re fine! They’re playful, full of life… what’s the problem?” The vet simply shook his head, looking grave, refusing to say anything more – leaving Fiona and John more bewildered than ever.

A Vague Warning
Whispers in the wind
The day after the vet’s mysterious visit, John and Fiona were sitting side by side in their living room, watching the kittens gamboling happily around them. “Have you noticed that they sometimes seem… radiant, in a strange way?” murmured Fiona, her gaze fixed on the little creatures. John nodded. “I thought I was imagining things. And the way Dr Nichols reacted… it was like he’d seen it all before.” A heavy silence settled between them, as they realized that they might be on the threshold of a much larger mystery than they had imagined.
