This Man Ordered Pizza Every Day For A Decade When Employees Suddenly Realized Something Wasn’t Right

First Choice

Kirk Alexander is a 48-year-old man who lives in Salem, Oregon. His absolute favorite food is pizza. In fact, he’s been eating Domino’s Pizza every single day for almost 10 years! However, one day, he didn’t order anything. Needless to say, the employees at Domino’s were shell-shocked when they found out the reason.

A Regular

According to Sarah Fuller, “he orders every day, every other day. She’s the general manager at the Domino’s branch Kirk normally orders from. “His order pops up on the screen because he orders online. So we see it come across the screen and we’re like, ‘Oh, Kirk’s order.’”

When Kirk’s neighbors were asked about him, they said, “I knock on the door every once in a while but sometimes he answers,” Robert Lalonde, who lives across the street, said. “Very seldom does he ever answer the door.”

“He’s a pretty good guy – kind of stayed away from everybody,” Ben Theodorichs, another neighbor said. “He’s come over a couple of times and helped us fix computers and, you know, he’s just good at that.”

Very Familiar

When it comes to being familiar with the employees, Sarah said, “Our delivery drivers he knows really well, because obviously he has conversations with them at the door.” It makes total sense since Kirk ordered from them almost daily.

11 Days With No Order

However, all of sudden, Kirk’s order stopped showing up for a few days, leaving the employees with a bad feeling in their stomachs. At first, the employees thought that Kirk might have gone on some kind of trip, visiting his friends and family. Maybe he was even on a business trip.

As more and more time went by, Fuller was stopped by a few of the delivery drivers, asking about Alexander. They too have noticed that he hadn’t placed an order in a while. Fuller went on to check out the system. She noticed it had been 11 days since Kirk’s last order. What was going on?

Enjoyed Each Item

She had a feeling something just wasn’t right. Kirk has been such a loyal customer for so many years. The staff knew him well and knew he was a friendly, nice, and quiet man. “He orders all the time, so we know him,” said Fuller.

A Drive-By

Not only was he their friend, some of the employees saw him as part of the family. He was so well-known that the staff members knew how long it took to get to his house, and it wasn’t a long trip. Was it possible that he began ordering from somewhere else? Was he tired of Domino’s?

“Kirk is a very well-known customer, but he doesn’t have a regular order – he’ll order anything from pasta or pizza to sandwiches or wings. It’s never the same thing every time.” It’s clear that he enjoyed a variety of foods and was in the habit of eating at Domino’s.

Reaching Out To 911

Gradually, the employees became more and more worried that there might be another reason behind his lack of orders. Finally, Fuller decided to send a driver to check up on their loyal customer to see if everything was alright.

Calling For Help

One of the delivery drivers, Tracey Hamblen, was tasked with this mission. As she walked up to Kirk’s front door, she couldn’t help but notice that lights were on inside the house. She got closer and started hearing noises from the TV that was on as well.

Making The Decision

“He came back to the store and that’s when we went ahead and decided to place the 911 call.” Still, all the workers couldn’t help but feel on edge. “Kind of scared, worried,” Fuller said. “What happened? What was going on?”

Knocking on the door of the house, Tracey waited but there was no answer. She kept on knocking, but to no avail. She decided to call Alexander, but the voicemail picked up yet again. Sigh Of Relief

Surely, someone would come up with an idea of what they should do. While discussing the situation with the rest of the staff, Hamblen called 911. She said, “Well, I need some help on what to do, it could be an emergency.”

Hearing

Sarah said: “I guess they could hear him inside, yelling for help. So they broke down the door and the paramedics got in and got him down to the hospital.” According to earlier reports, Alexander had suffered from minor strokes in the past.

Shockingly, the policemen heard a response from inside the house. They recognized the sound – it was someone calling out for help. Immediately, they broke down the door and ran it to find Kirk spread out on the floor. They got an ambulance to come and take him to a nearby hospital.

And so, all the officers rushed and broke down Kirk’s door to find him on the floor “in need of immediate medical attention.” They realized if they had gotten the call even just a day later, they would have been too late.

It seemed like Kirk had suffered a stroke. Luckily, the paramedics were able to stabilize him in time.  All the same, there was a lot of uncertainty, and no one that saw what happened was able to say how long he had been down for.

Lucky

Luckily, Alexander had been found just in time, and doctors were able to save his life. He would be making a full recovery. The staff at the branch he always ordered from were more than happy to hear the news. “We’re like a family here, and we were glad we were able to do something to help. We hope he’s able to fully recover from this,” said Fuller.

She responded to the situation by saying: “We are proud of our team members who took the initiative to reach out and help a regular customer who was in distress. There are thousands of Domino’s stores across the country, but every store is really a part of their neighborhood, delivering to people in their homes, which means we often get to know our customers well.”

Doing Their Job

In terms of the employees at Domino’s, they certainly didn’t see themselves as heroes. According to Fuller, “I think we were just doing our job checking in on someone we know who orders a lot. We felt like we needed to do something.”

The compassion and humility that was displayed by the employees was inspiring, to say the least. The media got the story and ran with it. In fact, the story was spread far and wide throughout the entire town – it even made it nationwide. Something else was in store as well.
