Emmy’s time span was still unclear, but they were confident that they could bring a child to the world. Reproductive specialists were approached who had been taking samples from prospective parents that would be enough for nine embryos. They wanted to be safe because they had no idea how much time she still has.

All of the things Jake’s had experience taught him how painful it could be for a cancer patient as well as for members of the family. He tries his best to volunteer and posts his stories on Instagram in order to raise awareness.

Jake wrote a heartfelt Instagram post on the 2nd anniversary of Emmy’s death, talking about his late wife, his missing half, and how he thinks about her every day. But Jake not only talks about how he misses her but also how he sees beauty because of her in almost every aspect of life. His perspective is really amazing.  

Forever Remembered

Emmy continues to live alongside her family friends, who regularly support charities on her behalf, run marathons in her memory and honor her. It is truly incredible to see how one woman influenced so many people on her journey and encouraged them to seek care for the cause.  

An Artist

Jake Coates made the decision to leave his medical career to pursue one in art. He has become a talented artist with numerous commissions but still plans to illustrate a children’s book that involves a love hive and his wife has for their poodle.

Animal Lover

The couple was both animal lovers, and Jake’s art clearly demonstrates this because he creates art from all kinds of animals – mainly dogs. He does, additionally, personalized animal portraits for owners, which is really amazing.
