A Stressful Situation
In-rescue Sync’s team had previously served in unfortunate situations with animals, but had never encountered such a traumatic situation. They weren’t able to help Sheila get better. They also thought she was completely giving up. Sheila stopped moving after days of fatigue and a lack of control. It seemed like her health was deteriorating; anything she had eaten, she would throw up. For the rescuers, this made it very complicated.

The In-Sync team really failed. They did everything in their power to help Sheila, but nothing seemed to work. They agreed to take the USDA’s recommendation to euthanize this big cat after a couple of weeks of hard work. Sheila’s life has been difficult and tough. The team had to contend with the fact that the kindest thing to do would be to end Sheila’s life.
