Valerie had no idea what to do with herself in the weeks that followed her son’s death. If things went according to plan, she should not be getting much sleep due to the baby. Instead, the house was silent. It did not help that she see reminders of the baby she lost no matter where she looked.

Eleven months after she lost the baby, she finally picked herself up. Valerie wanted to change the state of things. She knew that her child would have wanted this for her. On top of that, she missed laughing and smiling. The first thing on her to-do list was to hold a yard sale to sell unwanted items. She found the crib that she bought and felt a knot in her stomach. She no longer needed it, so it was best to sell it.
